Annotation
The paper justifies the potential of authentic texts as a means of educating postgraduate students (i. e. pre-service L2 teachers). The author characterizes the types of authentic texts, able to significantly expand pre-service teachers’ thesaurus and inform them about the professional worldview of English-speaking university specialists in education. The article offers the algorithm enabling future teachers to select authentic texts in English for their subsequent inclusion into the process of masters’ professional communicative competence formation.
