Annotation

The article presents a comprehensive study of the comparative approach in linguodidactics, focused on the scientific analysis of similarities and differences between language teaching processes and systems. The aim is to identify the patterns and specific features of their development in different countries. Particular attention is paid to the functions of the comparative approach in linguodidactics, as well as to comparative research methods, such as the vertical/historical and horizontal/current approaches. The authors provide a generalized characterization of the comparative approach in linguodidactics research, demonstrating how comparing phenomena lead to a deeper understanding. It requires a clear methodology and consideration of the social context. The authors claim that the comparative approach makes foreign language learning more conscious, effective, and targeted, minimizing the impact of negative trends and enhancing understanding the national foreign language education system positive development.
