Annotation
The article examines the features of neo-romanticism in the individual style of Velimir Khlebnikov (1885–1922), who was formed as a writer and as a thinker in the basically
neo-romantic cultural era of the Silver Age. There are various approaches to the interpretation of the meaning of the term neo-romanticism (L. P. Schennikova, E. Y. Karmalova, Z. G. Mints). In some cases, pre-symbolism, symbolism and post-symbolism are interpreted as neo-romantic phenomena. We adhere to the integrative approach given in the works of I. G. Mineralova, who postulated the existence of a single cultural style of the Silver Age as a determining factor of creativity. In this regard, neo-romanticism in its diverse components, including the various stages of its formation and development, is one of the defining features of this cultural style, which is dominated by the desire for artistic synthesis, «new stylization», and a mystical beginning in creativity. The key among the actual neo-romantic features of V. Khlebnikov’s style are the synthesis of art.
