Annotation
The article is devoted to the analysis of the development and features of the formation of a new scientific direction in linguistics — anthropolinguistics. The acute interest of scholars who carry out research work in various disciplines to the historical and cognitive interconnection of human thinking and language comprises the relevance of the study. Although it took some science fields several centuries to form, now with the increased progress rate the span of time that it takes science fields to form is significantly diminished. Studies of the process of knowledge development are always interesting, since they allow us to try to identify both the general patterns of the development of researchers’ thoughts and the features of the methods used in individual scientific areas. They can be studied within the framework of the history of science and technology, cognition studies and the study of science and also analytical methods. The article presents the results of an analytical review and historical development of anthropolinguistics, its methodological techniques and methods, outlines the goals and objectives of this new direction, names the works and names of authors who have made a certain significant contribution to the theory of anthropolinguistics.
