Annotation

The article examines the phenomenon of speech auto-aggression (self-aggression), which is very common in the virtual space. The relevance of the study is due to the need to study this extremely topical and relevant modern phenomenon, to identify factors contributing to the developing auto-aggression and individual’s auto-aggressive speech behavior, leading to problems concerning person’s mental health, often determining such negative consequences as psychological tension, discomfort, various kinds of conflicts. The outcome effects societal stability. This need is also due to the enormous impact of the virtual communication environment on its users. The purpose of the study is to consider the phenomenon of auto-aggression in virtual space from the point of view of its gender properties. The article aims at considering the content, describing the conditioning factors as well as linguistic features of texts with auto-aggression in terms of gender specificity of their implementation in the Internet, identifying the typical features of an Internet user’s axiosphere. The Sources of empirical material are the sites Women.ru, Just lady, as well as the platforms: Anti-women forum «Antiwomen» and Forum of the Maskulist project. The material for analysis included 366 statements with the identified semantics of auto-aggression. The research methods are the following: general scientific methods of material analysis and synthesis, discourse analysis, method of linguistic commentary on linguistic facts. Results. The greater tendency of women to verbal selfaggression in the Internet environment in comparison to men was confirmed. The authors identified the reasons that were triggers for auto-aggression in men and women to be later described in a comparative manner. Gender linguistic features of texts with auto-aggressive semantics are specified. There was greater expressiveness of male auto-aggression compared to females. The analysis of empirical material leads to the conclusion that verbal auto-aggression in its large-scale manifestation on the Internet, which is currently already a form of social reality, is dangerous being the evidence of psychological discomfort, emotional tension, anxiety in the large groups of the population, which does not contribute to the psychological health of the society and is fraught with negative consequences . The results obtained also lead to believe that the identified gender features of verbal auto-aggression in Internet communication are largely determined by the influence of society, the axiosphere of modern domestic reality.
