The article is devoted to the study of lexico-grammar means that express addresser’s emotions in the discourse of educational webinar in English. A webinar, being
virtual pedagogical discourse, plays an important role in educational environment. That is why the identification of the techniques that help to transmit knowledge efficiently by means of this educational media discourse genre seems to be an important task. To achieve the aim of the study, a research corpus was compiled. The corpus included three educational webinars in English with the total duration of 180 minutes. This webinars were presented by the EF company as part of their global teacher-training program. The linguopragmatic analysis together with the context analysis as well as the methods of classification and systematization were used to analyze the transcripts of the webinars. During the investigation it was revealed that emotivity that expressed the speakers’ feelings is an integral feature of the webinar discourse. At the grammar level, the emotions are transmitted with the help of exclamations and other emphatic constructions, lexico-syntactic repetition, degrees of comparison of adjectives, and questions. Emotionally charged lexis and intensifier words are the means that help to construct emotivity at the lexical level. The conclusion is made that the discursive category of emotivity is an essential feature of the webinar discourse. It is aimed at expressing the speaker’s evaluation, keeping audience’s focus on the information, establishing a dialogue between the speakers and their audiences, and, on the whole, it contributes to successful knowledge exchange with the audience.
