Annotation

The paper presents a review of contemporary linguistic research focusing on the analysis of discursive practices in different languages and exploring the principles of representing the cognitive sphere via natural language means. The review is based on theses and research papers published by members of the «Cognitive-Discursive Paradigm» scientific school, which operates at the Institute of Foreign Languages, Moscow City University. The study of current research trends in cognitive linguistics and discourse analysis yielded results indicating key areas for the development of the cognitive-discursive paradigm in Russian linguistics and outlined new avenues for further research.
