Annotation

The relevance of the topic being studied is due to the need to analyse features and peculiarities of new terms appearing in science, their structure and functioning. The article is aimed at analyzing grammatical-semantic features of the verb in English scientific texts on the example of perfusion terminology. The theoretical and practical significance is in the detailed study of verbs in scientific texts and the creation of the general characteristic of perfusiological terminology which is still at the stage of its formation. Quantitative (statistical, parametric), analytical and descriptive methods were used as the main methods of research. To analyse the forms of the verb used in texts about perfusion the second chapter of Cardiopulmonary Bypass, the basic work for perfusiology, was taken. The main conclusions are made on the base of analysis of the second chapter from Cardiopulmonary Bypass. According to the results, the statistics of usage of verbal forms in general corresponds to the rules of their usage in scientific texts. It was established as a certain feature of verbs their use in the active voice in order to emphasize that a perfusiologist is in charge of the proper working of equipment.
