Annotation
The article describes characteristic features of the modern fantasy classifications. The material under study shows that despite various approaches to the problem, the existing classifications are still questionable. Based on the works of Russian and foreign scholars a modernized classification is offered in the article. It has been probated through the analysis of the famous works «The Lords of The Rings» by J. Tolkien, «Game of Thrones» by G. Martin and others.
