Annotation

The article features the methodological concept and learning outcomes of the elective discipline «Teaching intercultural communication in the context of global education», designed within the framework of the linguistic Master’s programme. The study proves relevant due to the need to expand the linguistic and linguodidactic competencies of master students and to form their ability to use the competencies developed in application to the related professional areas (language education, in particular). That allows them to achieve a level of high professional universality. The principal research method is the syllabus design, as well as the approbation of the developed discipline. The article describes the features of the discipline design, reveals the structure and specific features of the content selection. In accordance with the content-related priorities, the discipline syllabus focuses on four learning blocks: introductory, basic linguodidactic, basic didactic training, practical. The results presented in the article (including feedback from students) allow us to conclude that the created concept and programme of the discipline are effective in training master students majoring in linguistics to organize classes in intercultural foreign language communication to be of global nature.
