Annotation

The article examines the comparative potential of the subject name and the role in arranging the comparative space. The subject name often creates a figurative comparison and appears in constructs with a person making the object of comparison. The cognitive possibilities of the name and the comparison estimation rank are due to the situations that determine the person-object interaction. Separate groups of subject names are considered: representing everyday situations, items of clothing and different types of space. A comparison score is usually created by a comparative constant in concordance with the comparison standard. The study represents cases of atypical subject name compatibility and ways of creating figurativeness. A subject name can create a different perception, both negative and positive. The positive evaluative potential is created by the names of spatial meaning defining the nearest space — the house and its components — charged with the positive energy of home.
