Annotation

The article deals with the author’s neologisms created by G. Orwell in his novel «1984». It analyzes their importance in the poetics of this work as well as the most typical ways of their formation. The article also touches upon the problem of antithetic constructions incorporated into the narration especially as specific characteristics of the new words that constitute the newspeak’s vocabulary, the fictional language in the novel.
