Annotation

The article provides a structural and substantive analysis of the new system of competencies in Chinese language proficiency, developed by the government authorities of the PRC for students of Chinese as a second language in China (national minorities, foreigners) and around the world, and officially coming into force on July 1, 2021. There is also a comparative analysis of the new and old systems (2014) that became the component composition of the model of communicative competence, developed for the Chinese language, the level structure of the model, as well as the content and quantitative criteria of the components of communicative competence. A conclusion is made about the nature of the structural, content and quantitative differences between the two systems.
