Annotation
Reflections on the specific features of the generation and perception of texts of various types focus on the analysis of current trends in the organization of texts, including semantic, syntactic, functional, and semiotic dimensions. A multifaceted and comprehensive analysis of these trends is conducted using the texts created by Loriot as commentaries preceding opera performances. In Loriot’s texts, tendencies characteristic of different text types — such as hybridization, creolization, expressivity, emotivity, carnivalesque elements, subject orientation, stylistic diffusion, the penetration of oral communication traditions into written texts and vice versa, and the dialogization of monologic texts — are manifested with particular clarity and intensity. These texts synchronously and coherently integrate information from different types of reality: real, fictional, and virtual. The tendency toward dialogization is described as manifesting itself to varying degrees and through different
mechanisms. Two types of dialogization are distinguished: explicit and implicit. The primary criterion for their differentiation is the degree to which principles of text organization that originally functioned in direct interaction of language speakers penetrate monologic texts, which traditionally existed in oral and/or written communication, both mediated and face-to-face. Through the analysis of formally monologic yet dialogized texts, heterogeneous and multilevel means of dialogization are identified, the most significant of which are elements belonging to the functional-semantic field of modality. For these elements, the function of dialogizing a monologic text becomes secondary, while the primary function — the expression of different types of modality (above all, specific forms of objective and subjective modality) — is not lost in the process of dialogization but rather layered onto the secondary function. Text dialogization is interpreted as a manifestation of tendencies inherent in contemporary information society, primarily those oriented toward subjectivity, hedonism, and the prioritization of individual needs. Consequently, textual space — regardless of its textual typological characteristics — is understood as a space for the dialogue of traditions, opinions, interpretations, and views, while the text itself is viewed as an interface between real, fictional, and virtual realities.
