Annotation
The article is devoted to the consideration of ecophilosophical views of the outstanding Kyrgyz and Russian writer, thinker, and public figure Ch. T. Aitmatov in the context
of the implementation of the scientific and educational interdisciplinary project «The Natural World in the Space of Cultur2e at the Moscow City University since 2015 as part of the activities of the scientific school of the Moscow City University «Nature in Russian Literature: Historical, Literary, and Theoretical-Methodological Aspects». The relevance of the study is due to the approaching 100th anniversary of the writer, as well as to his undeservedly forgotten collection of essays, «In Collaboration with the Earth and Water...: Essays, Articles, Conversations, and Interviews», which sheds light on his civic stance, historical, ethical, aesthetic, and political views, his attitude towards his homeland and the world, nature, language, and literature, and his mission as a writer. The article aims to explore the writer’s eco-philosophy and the issues of environmental identity as part of his civic identity, along with historical, national, linguistic, and cultural identities. The article substantiates the relevance and prospects of understanding the ideas of the writer-thinker in our days and shows their connection with the scientific and practical activities of scientists and teachers at the Moscow City University within the framework of the interdisciplinary project, which resulted in 10 international conferences and 10 scientific collections and collective monographs. The leading research methods are biographical, comparative methods, as well as discourse analysis. The materials presented in the article allow us to continue addressing the creative legacy of Ch. Aitmatov and a wide range of literature and culture in line with ecophilosophical issues using modern research methods and strategies.
