Annotation

The study of Chinese language, culture, literature has so far been considered by a great number of authors that referred to developing regions or the country in one way or another. Nevertheless, the dramatically increasing demand for training Chinese language specialists has revealed that the existing approaches and teaching methods do not meet the current requirements. This study aims at analyzing the ways of training Chinese language specialists through the perspective of ethnocultural knowledge. It is the Chinese ontology that appears fundamental for the Chinese society with its goal to conduct in-depth research into various elements, phenomena and aspects of the Chinese language, culture and history, as well as to generalize the rules obtained. The purpose of teaching Chinese as a foreign language, on the other hand, is to allow students to learn how to listen, speak, read, write and communicate in Chinese. Teaching Chinese as a foreign language is a comprehensive and multifaceted subject which includes Chinese language ontology, Chinese language acquisition and cognition, theory and teaching methods, etc., including «what to teach», «how to teach», «how to learn» and other aspects. As for the quality of foreign language teaching, the study of «how to teach» and «how to learn» certainly plays the key role, though these two aspects should correlate with the «what to teach» one. «What to teach» refers to teaching Chinese as a foreign language. If teachers of Chinese as a foreign language do not have a solid theoretical basis in Chinese linguistics, they fail to interpret or employ Chinese correctly, they lack thorough analysis of different language phenomena in Chinese, they are bad at formulating the teaching content, and they miss important and difficult teaching content points, which means that training process cannot be arranged effectively. Therefore, we believe that the study of Chinese ontology is the one to rely on when ensuring the efficiency in Chinese as a foreign language training.
