Annotation

The paper focuses on the current practices in describing research methods in the publications, the empirical data cover 100 abstracts of the theses on linguistics. The authors offer critical analysis of the descriptions and distinguish logical cognitive operations which are universal for the humans in their cognitive activities starting from the early childhood, on the one hand, and linguistic methods per se. The authors define explanatory potential and cognitive backgrounds of the operating linguistic methods, e.g. componential and distributive analyses, experimental techniques, and corpus analysis.
