Annotation
The article analyzes the semiotic structure of M. Kozyrev’s satirical novel The Fifth Journey of Lemuel Gulliver’s, reveals the structure-forming function of the principle of mirroring in the organization of the semantic space of the text. The image of the fictitious country of Huberallia is reflected in mirrors, which adds to the effect of multiplying “reflections” and creates an amphilada of meanings. The analysis of the semiotic space of the story proves that in addition to the object of criticism declared by the author — Germany of the 1930s — the Soviet country which is portrayed as a world of injustice and absurdity makes the subject to satirical reflection in the story.
